”3 White Guys Named John" is the fantastical and totally true solo show of how John Hughes, John Mayer and Jon Bon Jovi inspired Andrea, a black woman from the south, at pivotal moments to go where she felt terrified to go thereby significantly altering the course of her life. The music, words and films of three white guys named John transcended race and lived experience to act as Divine messengers leading Andrea on the path of her destiny dropping lyrical and cinematic breadcrumbs along the way. Without John, John and Jon she surely would’ve taken a different path and would not be where she is today.

Andrea Coleman is a Brooklyn based writer, performer and lawyer originally from Virginia. She writes sketch comedy, stand-up comedy, screenplays and stage plays. Her Medium articles have been viewed online over 800 thousand times. The law comedy show she created and stars in, "Wack or Woke? Andrea Coleman Judges the Law," has been featured in The New York Times, TimeOut NY, NPR and aired on PBS’ All Arts Channel. She was a member of Art House Production’s INKubator Playwrights Cohort, American Theater Group’s Playlab and Fresh Ground Pepper Playground Playgroup. She was a finalist for the Women’s Work Short Play Lab and ArsNova’s 2022 CAMP Comedy Residency. Her one act plays have been produced at The Manhattan Repertory Theatre, Phoenix Theatre Ensemble and Hot Metal Arts Collective. Her full length play Run was selected for The Chain Theatre’s New Play Development Program. She’s performed at the Orlando Shakespeare Festival where she also interned for the Director of New Play Development and acted at The Shakespeare Theatre Company where she performed opposite Kelly McGillis under the direction of Michael Kahn.

In New York, Andrea has performed standup at Comedy Cellar, Comic Strip, Gotham and Caroline’s. She's toured her standup at San Francisco Sketchfest, Women in Comedy Festival in Boston and Austin Sketch Fest. She is an Actor on a UCB Maude Team and a writer on two Armory Sketch teams. Andrea has written and executive produced 5 short films which have been Official Selections at 16 Film Festivals. One of her shorts, BFF, aired on BET and AspireTV. Her feature script Stealing the Strad was selected for IFPs 2010 Film Week and the Woke Laws podcast she’s developing was selected for IFP’s 2020 Audio Lab. Andrea practiced law for 17 years at a Fortune 100 company and has tried 30 jury trials.
