About this event
What if you felt confident enough to say "yes" to every speaking opportunity that came your way?

Well, there's no reason why you can't be. The only thing standing between you and confident public speaking skills is practice, practice and (guess what) more practice! Did you know that ongoing practice can help you to:

  • Reduce feelings of nerves and anxiety before meetings and presentations;
  • Project confidence and credibility when speaking with important clients or executive management;
  • Position yourself as a leader in your organization;
  • Advance your career by being hired or promoted;
  • Influence colleagues by promoting your ideas clearly and confidently

If you're a young professional who wants to develop your public speaking skills and overcome feelings of nervousness and anxiety then you're in the right place! Whether you want to prepare for an upcoming presentation or just get comfortable in front of an audience, the 3-Part Public Speaking & Communications Workshop will help you get where you want to go.

What to expect when we train

Our workshop is a great way for you to practice your public speaking skills and to overcome your feelings of nervousness and anxiety. In these sessions, you can expect to...

  • Practice formally introducing yourself to a group of people
  • Practice various strategies to help you manage your nerves and anxiety
  • Identify your speaking strengths and areas of improvement with help from the Lead Facilitator
  • Practice delivering presentation(s)
  • Practice answering impromptu questions and managing the Q&A
  • Receive ample feedback from your peers and the facilitator
  • Practice delivering feedback to your peers (yes, everyone provides each other with feedback!)
  • Video record your speeches (using your own, personal phone) to review how you did

Why practice with us

We've trained over 700 people from companies like Lululemon, Microsoft, SAP, Unbounce and (etc.) who love us because:

  • We practice the skills that matter most. Many of us will never deliver a TEDx talk but nearly all of us will have to deliver a presentation at work, answer impromptu questions from our manager and formally introduce ourselves to new clients. That’s why we focus on building the day-to-day communication skills that matter most in the workplace.
  • We have small class sizes. While most other programs have anywhere between 25 - 35(!) people per class, we cap all of our classes at 14 people to ensure everyone has multiple opportunities to practice speaking as well as giving and receiving feedback.
  • We provide a fun, safe and supportive environment. Public speaking can be scary and intimidating. That’s why we ensure that every practice session provides you with a fun, safe and supportive environment for you to practice and grow. Plus, we love keeping it casual and having a lot of fun along the way!
  • We focus on strategies that reduce feelings of nervousness and anxiety. We've partnered with Registered Psychologist and VP of Anxiety Canada, Dr. Melanie Badali to develop resources that use proven, science-based strategies that will build your confidence and reduce feelings of nervousness and anxiety so you can say "yes" to any speaking opportunity that comes your way.
