Learn the fundamentals of pastel painting while creating a finished 9"x12" portrait of your pet. The course begins with developing a proportionally accurate drawing in vine charcoal, then moves into pastel layering techniques to build color, depth, and detail, resulting in a realistic and personal work of art.
COST $90/person
SKILL LEVEL Beginner or Intermediate
SUPPLIES Please bring an 8"x10" print of your pet (ideally a head/bust portrait with clear shadows for reference), or bring the photo on a tablet/iPad to draw from. All supplies will be provided. Students are welcome to bring their own chalk pastels if they prefer. The same pastels used in class will also be available for purchase, if desired.
