The Counseling Compact and Reciprocity. Can I practice across state lines yet? How do I become licensed by reciprocity or endorsement?
About this Event

The Counseling Compact. What does it mean that "it is now effective". "How-To" of reciprocity. How do I get endorsed by another state? What are the ethical problems with telemental health practice across state lines? How do I solve these problems? What about international practice?

This 3 NBCC Hour webinar in ethics provides information you are not likely to find anywhere else. You will interact with licensees from around the nation. It is the result of years of interaction with state counseling board officials on telemental health rules and law.

Come and learn more.

For 7 years I wrote, interpreted and enforced Georgia licensing board rules and law. The primary purpose of this webinar is for participants to obtain the most current information on several states' approaches to interstate and interjurisdictional practice of psychotherapy and The Counseling Compact. Participants can integrate this into their own prototypical model of providing ethical telehealth psychotherapy. Course Objectives:

1)Participants will demonstrate ability to develop their own prototypical model of telemental mental health delivery.

2) Participants will demonstrate understanding of trends in demand for interstate electronic therapy.

3) Participants will gain understanding of the Counseling Compact jurisdictional and licensing issues of maintaining multiple state licenses.

About Your Presenter:

During his appointment to the Composite Board, Eric made formal judgements on over 200 licensing board complaints against Professional Counselors, Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists and processed over 7000 APC/LPC applications. Participants enjoy Eric's relaxed and lighthearted presentation of serious material and how this non-threatening approach promotes a consciousness of ethics across the profession. He specializes in dissociative disorders and addiction in his Atlanta private practice. Eric is founder and president of the non-profit state chapter Georgia Council on Problem Gambling.

 Who Should Attend?

Anyone interested in or practicing psychotherapy in the state of Georgia including individuals licensed by the Composite Board and non-licensees who want to know whether they are engaging in unlicensed telemental health practice. Agency administrators and supervisors interested in learning more about how the state regulates the practice of their employees.
