Join us for a Hallmark Classic Christmas to remember as we travel to the quaint town of Dahlonega, Georgia.
Day 1 (Monday) We depart Farragut (Cracker Barrel, Campbell Station Rd) at 7am then Knoxville (WalMart, Kinzel Way) at 8am and begin our Christmas journey south. Lunch is included today at the Attic in Clarksville, GA at noon. Following lunch we have a short drive to Cleveland and the world famous Babyland General Hospital, birth place of the Cabbage Patch Doll. Babyland General is the only place in the world where you can witness the birth of a hand-sculpted Cabbage Patch Kid. We depart Babyland General by 3pm and continue onto Dahlonega. We arrive in the town square of America's first gold rush town at 3:30pm. Upon arrival we check into the Dahlonega Square Hotel and Villas. You have the remainder of the evening free to enjoy the shops and restaurants around town square while making Christmas memories.
Day 2 (Tuesday) Today starts with a tour of the Dahlonega Gold Mining Museum(10am) housed in the historic Old Lumpkin County Courthouse built in 1836. Next up is lunch from Connie’s Ice Cream Parlor before we continue our local gold rush experience with a tour at Consolidated Gold Mining Company. Once here a miner will take us on an underground tour of the gold mine before we try our hand at panning for gold! Next up is a visit to Helen for free time to shop followed by dinner at Hofbrauhuas at 6pm. We return to our hotel in Dahlonega by 8pm to enjoy the beautiful Christmas lights on the square.
Day 3 (Wednesday) We have free time to browse the local shops and have lunch on your own before departing for home at 1pm. We return to Knoxville by 6pm with Hallmark Christmas memories to last a lifetime.
