This a a pastor-led verse-by-verse reading/discussion through the book of 2Thessalonians. The church at Thessalonica was in Greece, a world port city and capital of Macedonia whose culture was all over the place with many philosophers, gods and goddesses, most significant the goddess of love/fertility. Separation of church and state did not exist, so everything was thrown into every pot. This young Christian church was attempting to hold fast to the faith, but its members were marinated in the culture and persecuted by Rome. They were anxious about the return of Christ, and wondered if they had missed it. Come join us as we learn more about the letter Paul wrote to the church at Thessalonica. Coffee will be ready.
