The second Lawn Chair Chat will be held on Saturday, September 20, at the Wapping Community Church, 1790 Ellington Road, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. The Lawn Chair Chat events are a series of informal programs that allow local residents to share the stories about their neighborhoods or places of interest. They are being held as part of the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. One goal of the commemoration is to include all of the stories of the community from its beginning to the present.
At the Wapping Community Church, there will be stories of its history and also the history of the Wapping area. Anyone who has stories to share or who would like to know more about the Wapping area, from the past to the present, is invited to attend. We will provide lawn chairs and lemonade, but you can bring your own favorite lawn chair. If you have questions, please call the South Windsor Historical Society at 860-291-9958.
