The Brunswick Downtown Association hosts a variety of artists, musicians, and performers on Friday, June 14th. See the art and meet the artists on Maine Street & Pleasant Street. Event festivities include artist displays and receptions at galleries & retail shops and more! 4 to 7PM. on June 14, July 12, August 9, September 13.
JUNE 14 Businesses Hosting Artists:
The Mix: Featuring multiple local artists again this summer, in addition to live music, refreshments and beautiful artwork for you to peruse and purchase if you choose.
Bayview Gallery: Welcomes Harpswell painter, Joanne Tarlin to our community of talented artists. Rich with allegory, Tarlin’s paintings draw from her empathy and concern for the natural world. She uses flowers or brambles or water to symbolize people or environmental situations. ArtWalk Reception: 5 – 7PM
Root Rind & Petal: Featuring Sarah Lederer of Brunswick will be available with brand new, hot off the press, Oracle Card Deck “I Am Art”.
Barter Art House: Featuring “Lost at Sea” exhibit inspired by communities who were affected by the devastating January storms. Reception: 5 – 7PM.
Maíz: Offering fun, free samples of Limonada de Coco & arepa chips with various sauces! $5 house margaritas throughout the duration of the event, with the option to add a fruit puree for $1. This is your chance to order a special sampler platter of pasabocas (Colombian snacks)!
Points of View Artists: Opens their 2024 season with TWENTY! a celebration of POV’s 20th anniversary. 14 current members and 12 former members share our diverse work. Reception: Friday, June 14; 5-7 pm.
Lemont Block Collective: A community collective, featuring local Maine artists and makers. Maine made art, gifts, antiques, records and more! 10AM – 7 PM. Featuring artists Loran Doran and Deb Ripley.
Frank Brockman Gallery: frank & friends group show. 4 – 7PM.
The Theater Project: Playing for Laughs – Improv troupe. In front of The Abby, 87 Maine St
Bowdoin College Museum of Art: Bowdoin students offer a variety of activities for families, based on the exhibitions on view. Free treats from the Gelato Fiasco for the first 100 guests, beginning at 4PM. The Museum will be open to the public until 7PM. Drop in and enjoy the exhibitions Threads: Artists Weave their World, Currents: Art Since 1875, and more. Always free and open to the public.
OneSixtyFive: Displaying work from local artist Sally Loughridge. and work by Suzanne Harden, Dennis Sheehan, Stefan Pashtuhov, Barbara Applegate on loan from Bayview Gallery. ArtWalk Special $10 Frida Mezcahlo. Open to the public from 4-7.
