Get cozy and join us for a magical evening of books, surprises, and holiday cheer inspired by the Icelandic tradition of Jólabókaflóð — the Yule Book Flood!Here’s how it works:
Bring a wrapped book (gently loved is perfect!). On the front, write a short teaser or description of the book — but don’t include the title or author! We’ll draw numbers to decide the order of unwrapping.
When it’s your turn, unwrap your mystery book in front of the group to see what you’ve chosen! If you’ve already read it (or happen to own it), no worries — we’ll swap until everyone has a new story to enjoy.
If you’d like, bring a favorite dessert or appetizer to share for a cozy little potluck spread — but no pressure! There will be plenty to enjoy even if you just bring yourself (and your book). All leftover books will be donated to the Little Free Library that lives inside The Slow Down!
