In July 1973, three bands staged the largest gathering to date in North America at Watkins Glen Speedway, and this summer some of the best jam band musicians in the USA will recreate this historic event in Atlanta, GA on July 8, 2023 (on a slightly smaller scale).
The July 28, 1973 event long held the Guinness Book of World Records entry for "largest audience at a pop festival," with an estimated 600,000 fans in attendance at the Watkins Glen Grand Prix Raceway. Only three (3) bands performed at this historic event: Grateful Dead, The Band, and Allman Brothers Band.
This summer’s event will showcase three bands of musicians recreating many of the same songs performed by the Grateful Dead, The Band, and the Allman Brothers Band. The show will take place on an indoor air-conditioned stage at Vision Studios and limited to 250 lucky ticket holders - tickets are now on sale.
