YVHS Class of 83.I found a local business to take part in this years 2nd Annual Retro Reunion at Retro Junkie in Walnut Creek on June 15, 2024 from 12-6pm. This years event takes a different path by being a fund raiser for two environmentally active senior students of Ygnacio Valley High School. Here is the skimmy on the plan. First tickets are $50 for entrance and food at event. If we get 30 tickets sold if guarantees $1,000 raised for the prizes. Pollo Loco of Concord will match up to $1,400 to increase the prize money for the two winners. Retro Junkie will donate the use of their facility if we have 50 or more persons by making money for alcohol.
So now it is up to us. Do we want to get together again and have a party for a good cause? It will take some work organizing and planning on my part, but I can’t make a flyer and work with YVHS staff until this event is concrete!
So we have until January 10 to get 30 tickets sold to guarantee the event happens, then another 20 more to get free use of Retro Junkie.
I know, a little complex, but feels good to raise awareness at YVHS about our environment, and have a good time doing it. As with last year Venmo is best for payment. If the event happens, which I think it will from my earlier responses then I will build a small committee of classmates to help in the student judging and party planning. Take care.
