Freedom finally came on June 19, 1865, when some 2,000 Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas. The army announced that the more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state, were free by executive decree. This day came to be known as "Juneteenth," by the newly freed people in Texas. Today Juneteenth is celebrated worldwide and is now an National holiday in the United States as of June 17, 2021.We are bringing Juneteenth to, Queen Creek, AZ.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, June 18, 2023 (10am - 2pm) - Free and Open to the Public.
It will be held at The Barney Family Sports Complex, 22050 E Queen Creek Rd, Queen Creek, AZ 85142.
**AND YES - the event is on Father's Day, and we will be celebrating ALL Fathers in attendance.
