The NJ Sharing Network is the non-profit organization responsible for the recovery and placement of donated organs and tissue for those in need of a life-saving transplant. Nearly 4,000 New Jersey residents are currently awaiting transplantation. They are also part of the national recovery system, which is in place for the 110,000 people on the national waiting list.One organ and tissue donor can save 8 lives and enhance the lives of over 75 others

• Transplantable organs include heart, kidneys, liver, lungs, pancreas and intestine

• 110,000 people in the U.S are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. Nearly 4,000 are New Jersey residents.

• 17 people die waiting for an organ transplant each day.

• People of all ages and medical histories can be potential organ and tissue donors.

• Your medical care will not be compromised because of your decision to donate.

• An open casket funeral is possible for organ and tissue donors. Through the entire process, the donor is treated with care and respect.

• There is no cost to be an organ and tissue donor...donation is a gift.
