2nd Annual Move Like Malcolm Wellness Event
It was so good the first time, we had to run it back again!
Join us at Havenwoods State Forest on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 2:00 PM to honor Malcolm X in motion. We’ll kick off with a powerful group walk/run, then ground ourselves with meditation, food, and conversation on Black liberation and how we carry his legacy forward.
All ages are welcome to attend. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Introductions and Check-in
Info: The first 30 minutes we'll allow people to get settled into the space, check-in, and explore the food options and community resource tables. This will also be a time for introductions so we can get to know each other, learn more about Run Black & Green, and warm up for our walk/run.

Black Liberation Workshop
Info: An interactive group workshop and discussion about Black liberation and continuing Malcolm X's legacy facilitated by Carnell Hogans

Malcolm Meditation Sound Bath Experience
Info: Sound bath meditation integrated with excerpts from Malcolm X's speeches to be grounded and inspired by Malcolm X's words and sound healing.

Stretching + Group Nature Walk or Run
Info: Attendees will have the option to walk for 1 mile or run for up to 2 miles. The hosts will inform and guide attendees through the routes on the Havenwoods State Forest trails based on which option they choose.

Closing
Info: We'll do a post-walk/run stretch and then bring the event to a close. Attendees can feel free to continue to interact with the community resources, patronize food truck, and enjoy nature.
