About this Event

Central Texas Climate & Sustainability Summit

A one-day working session for the people building climate action across Central Texas.

Central Texas is one of the fastest-growing regions in the country. It is also facing intensifying pressure on water, air quality, energy grid reliability, and land use. The people already working to address these challenges, across students, nonprofits, city and county partners, and community leaders, often do not have space to find each other and coordinate.

This summit is that space.

Building on last year's inaugural event (100+ attendees, 15+ regional organizations), the 2026 summit is a working session focused on moving from awareness to concrete action. Not a conference. A day designed to strengthen partnerships, surface shared priorities, and commit to named next steps.

What to expect

  • Opening remarks from regional elected leaders and community voices
  • Regional leadership panel featuring city, education, workforce, and community perspectives
  • Facilitated breakout sessions on regional priority topics
  • Networking lunch with plant-based, locally sourced catering
  • Action planning session to translate the day's conversations into concrete regional coordination
  • Tabling from regional organizations including PODER, Save Our Springs Alliance, TreeFolks, Austin Watershed Protection, Austin Water, Shoal Creek Conservancy, The Trail Conservancy, Travis County Parks Foundation, Third Act TX and Solar Austin, Take Care of Texas, and Shade Our Streets

Who this is for

Students, educators, nonprofit leaders, environmental advocates, city and county partners, elected officials, and anyone doing or curious about climate and sustainability work in Central Texas.
