Empowering Youth Through Cycling Education and Adventure at the 2nd Annual Bike Bash!
We are excited to announce the 2nd Annual Bike Bash, our upcoming fundraising event aimed at raising crucial funds and awareness for youth cycling teams across Wake County. These funds will go directly toward supporting and expanding cycling opportunities for local youth, including:
- Supporting existing NICA teams: Your donation will help fund Wake County and surrounding area teams, which provide a structured environment for youth to grow their cycling skills and build lasting friendships.
- Launching new teams: With your help, we can expand our reach and offer more opportunities to young cyclists in other communities throughout Wake County.
- Trail development: Partnering with local trail advocacy organizations to build and improve bike trails in the area, creating safe, challenging spaces for riders to hone their skills.
- Cycling activities: Your contribution will fund additional youth cycling events and activities, offering more opportunities for youth to get active and stay engaged.
At Youth Cycling Initiative, we believe that cycling is more than just a sport—it’s a powerful tool for empowerment. Our mission as a non-profit 501(c)(3) is to foster physical fitness, critical thinking, and social-emotional growth in young people through the transformative experience of cycling. We understand that biking can help youth develop not just physical strength, but also mental resilience and teamwork, shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
But our vision goes beyond teams and trails. We're also advocating for the establishment of high school cycling clubs within the Wake County Public School System. Our goal is to make cycling a recognized and accessible sport at the high school level, helping students across the county discover the joy of riding and the benefits of cycling as part of their educational experience.
