If you are a 'new' Suez Maru family, or haven't been for a while, or were at last year's 80th-anniversary gathering, please do gather together on this day if you would like to/ are able to.
The National Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire, does not charge for entry, however there is a car park fee (£4 if booking online before arrival and £6 on the day). Go to www.thenma.org.uk to book.
Plan to arrive for around 1.30pm (unless you'd like to come earlier and visit the huge NMA spaces of remembrance and perhaps have lunch before gathering at the Suez Maru Memorial, within the later-built Hellship Memorial Garden, next to the FEPOW building.
It will be an informal gathering, not a service. If anyone would like to say a few words, they would be welcome, and we will conclude with placing poppy wreaths or poppy crosses (order from Lady Haigs or there are RBL crosses available at the NMA).
We can gather in the cafe afterwards for a cup of tea/coffee, and to chat before we head home.
