The 2028 and Beyond Diving Camp returns for its third consecutive year, featuring sessions scheduled across three new distinct locations: Indianapolis, IN (September 6-8), Clarion, PA (September 13-15), and Mission Viejo, CA (September 27-29). Spearheaded by Drew Johansen, a renowned three-time Head Olympic Diving Coach, with the primary objective to bring coaches education to all coaches across the country from grassroots, high school, college, all the way to Olympic coaches. This camp presents a unique chance for participants to master the foundational aspects of diving. Tailored to accommodate divers of all skill levels, from novices to national qualifiers, and coaches aiming to elevate their expertise, this three-day camp guarantees a rewarding experience at the newly mentioned venues. Embrace the opportunity to enhance your diving skills through training overseen by Drew and other esteemed professionals.
Drew Johansen, who currently holds the position of head diving coach at Indiana University, has an illustrious coaching career. He has notably led the U.S. diving team at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympic Games in London, Rio, and Tokyo, respectively, appointed by USA Diving. With a decade-long tenure as a U.S. National Team coach, Johansen played a pivotal role in the team's remarkable performance, securing numerous medals and establishing the U.S. as a prominent medal-winning nation. Recognized for his coaching prowess, Johansen has received accolades such as the CSCAA Diving Coach of the Year (men’s in 2018 and 2023, women’s in 2022) and the Big Ten Diving Coach of the Year (men’s in 2014, 2018, 2019, and 2023, women’s in 2022) multiple times.
Indianapolis Location: The Indiana International School of Diving (IISD) is based out of the IUPUI Natatorium. Operating year-round, IISD functions as a competitive diving club that offers expert coaching and technical guidance for individuals of all ages and skill levels. Our primary objective is to afford each member the chance to enhance their abilities and attain success commensurate with their proficiency, whether they are beginners or seasoned international competitors. The coaching team at the Indianapolis location is led by Sean McCarthy, the head coach of IISD, along with other dedicated staff members.
