26th WAVE Conference 2024

The 2024 WAVE Conference 'From emergency support to violence prevention: 30 years of championing women's rights' will take place in Vienna, Austria. It is organized by the WAVE Network in cooperation with the Austrian WAVE Members Association of Austrian Autonomous Women's Shelters (AÖF), Network of Austrian Counseling Centres for Women and Girls, and Ninlil - Empowerment and Counselling for Women with Disabilities.

The 26th WAVE Conference will take place from the 30th September –1st October 2024, with the first day being open to the general public and WAVE Members, while the second day is only open to WAVE Members.

This year’s WAVE Conference marks a significant milestone in our journey, a testament to 30 years of constant solidarity, sisterhood, advocacy, and progress in the fight against violence. This anniversary provides us with an opportunity to both celebrate our achievements and recommit ourselves to the vital task of prevention. The conference will take stock of how far we have come in our feminist network, from our modest beginnings in 1994, to our current status as Europe's leading WSS network, encompassing over 1,600 organisations across 46 countries, and explore the work still needed to tackle and ultimately prevent violence against women and girls (VAWG) & domestic violence (DV) across Europe. The focus of the WAVE Conference 2024 will be on prevention and the exploration of the myriad practices and strategies employed by WAVE Members in tackling the root causes of VAWG.

The conference is free of charge for WAVE members, and there is an attendance fee of 120 € for the general public. Apart from an exciting programme, we will provide all participants with coffee breaks, as well as lunch during the conference. We also invite you to a reception in the evening of Monday, 1st October, 2024 at the conference venue.

Cancellation policy: refunds can be requested up to a week before the conference. After September 23rd no cancellations will be possible.
