Bring your valentine for a concert featuring jazz favorites performed by the Southeast Jazz Bands! This year, we have the honor to host saxophone player Charles (Chip) McNeill. In addition to his position with the University of Illinois School of Music, Professor McNeill is Musical Director and Jazz Tenor Saxophonist for Grammy award-winning recording artist Arturo Sandoval. With a program including some familiar favorites like Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Young Lovers and the Gershwin brothers’ Embraceable You – alongside tunes by the Average White Band and the legendary Quincy Jones – this is a night you definitely won’t want to miss!
Thank you to Saint Francis Healthcare System for their generous support of jazz education at Southeast.
Please note, security measures will be in place for this event, including walkthrough weapon detectors, handheld security wands, security personnel, and a bag check. Weapons of any kind are prohibited on River Campus property.
