About this Event

We are Matangui and Kali and we are delighted to welcome you into our space for a shibari jam. Come alone or partnered up, either way we will make sure that you are not alone in a corner feeling uncomfortable (unless that’s what you want).

Friday 23rd December 2022

7:00pm to 11:00pm

Full address will only be given 24h prior to the event to attendees who have successfully registered.

What happens at a Shibari / Rope Jam?

⁃ It will be a cozy evening for you to mingle with a small group of lovely people in the rope community.

⁃ Light food and drinks will be provided. We don't provide alcoholic drinks as we don't encourage mixing rope and alcohol.

⁃ There will be space for you to tie. Three suspension points, one hashira point and a mezzanine available for attendees. Please bring your own ropes and other equipment, if you don't have any, there's some community rope avaiable for floorwork only.

⁃ Talk to us about what Organic Space can do for YOU!

⁃ Our pricing is based on the expenses we are anticipating. If you would like to attend but you can't afford to support the space by buying a ticket there are other ways you can support us. We have volunteering options available including WFH ones. Please reach out to us and let's chat.

CONSENT is paramount at Organic Space and it comes with FRIES therefore it must be:

Freely given: no coercion, no convincing, no guilt trips, no blackmailing.

Revocable: anyone can change their mind at any time and refuse to continue with a previously agreed scene. Also just because in the past that person consented to sth doesn't mean it still applies. Always check before starting.

Informed: risks must be explained, and you must disclose any injuries to your partner.

Enthusiastic: Only "YES!" is yes. "Meh" is No, "Silence" is No, "Maybe" is No and of course "No" is No.

Specific: a kiss on the cheek might be ok, a kiss on the neck might not, always check and ask for consent.

SAFEGUARDING:

If at any point you don't feel safe, your consent has been violated or you need any type of assistance please approach any of the organisers or volunteers. They will all be easily identifiable and introduced to you at your arrival.

VOLUNTEERING POSITIONS:
  • If you would like to attend the event but cannot afford the ticket please reach out to us and we will find a way that works for you and us.
  • We can use your help in the following areas: dog walking, venue cleaning, IT and social media.
  • Volunteering agreements will be fair to all parties involved.

ACCESIBILITY:
  • Unfortunately we are on a 2nd floor with no lift and we don't have the strength to safely carry any attendees upstairs.
  • Kali has some very basic knowledge of BSL and won't be wearing a mask to ensure lipreading is possible.
  • We are happy to provide a tactile tour of the installations for anyone that requests it.
  • If you are feeling sensory overload we have a chill area upstairs although it doesn't block sound so you may wanna bring your noise cancelling headphones.

ALLERGIES: If you are allergic to any food please let us know before booking.
Covid-19 policy

1. We clean and disinfect the space before and after every event.

2. Face masks are not mandatory. If you do wear one and take it off for food and drinks, we ask that you maintain personal hygiene and handle the face mask properly (i.e. not leaving it on surfaces).

3. Hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes will be available.

4. Subject to the weather, we will open the windows for ventilation.

5. Please do not attend the event if you experience symptoms of Covid-19, have been in contact with someone who has Covid-19, or are required to stay in self-isolation.

6. While we shall use best endeavours to maintain hygiene and protect the safety of all attendees, please be aware of the potential risk of contracting covid-19 from an asymptomatic attendee.

7. In the unfortunate event in which you test positive for C-19 or are in contact with someone who has contracted covid-19 in the 7 days following the event, please inform us promptly so that we can inform all attendees to get tested.
