📢 CALL FOR ABSTRACTS FOR KALEIDOSCOPE CONFERENCE 2026 ✨💡The 23rd Annual Kaleidoscope Conference at the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education is now open for abstract submissions!
Taking place on Friday, 29 May 2026, the conference brings together students, researchers, and practitioners working across education to share work, test ideas, and engage in thoughtful dialogue.
This year’s theme, ‘Creative Leaps: Rethinking Approaches to Research, Practice, and Policy in Education’, invites contributions that question how we approach our work and what it means to do so differently in response to emerging challenges.
We welcome abstracts of 150–250 words for:
📌 Research papers (empirical or theoretical)
📌 Works in progress
📌 Practice-based contributions
📌 Workshops, posters, and creative sessions
Submissions can sit within or across disciplines, and we are particularly interested in work that critically examines methods, assumptions, and the relationship between research, policy, and practice.
Sub-themes include:
📌 Foundations – rethinking and reconceptualising existing knowledge, theories, and assumptions
📌 Creative practices – rethinking approaches to research design, knowledge production, participant engagement, and analysis
📌 Research–policy praxis – examining how policy is informed by and shapes research
📌 Practice–policy praxis – exploring how educational practice interacts with and responds to policy contexts
📌 Moving between research and practice – reflecting on how insights travel between research and practice
📌 Research–practice–policy nexus – interrogating the relationships and boundaries across research, practice, and policy
