About this Event
The Center for Multicultural Wellness and Prevention, Inc. (CMWP), along with several community partners (Advent Health, Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce of Florida, Center for Change, Greater Haitian American Chamber of Commerce of Orlando, Central Florida Medical Society and Orange County Health Department) have planned and implemented the Annual Caribbean Health Summit for the past twenty (20) years.
The Annual Caribbean Health Summit is one of the many ways that the Center for Multicultural Wellness and Prevention, Inc. (CMWP) has been using to reach out to help individuals make positive lifestyle changes.
The theme for this year’s event is “Making Your Health a Priority”, was developed and agreed to by the Planning Committee to show that everyone should prioritize health wellness into their daily lives.
The Center for Multicultural Wellness and Prevention (CMWP) is committed to saving lives through prevention, education, awareness, linkage and referral. The annual health summit is the perfect vehicle to highlight the importance of early detection, which is screening. The community can take advantage of free health screenings, such as blood pressure, cholesterol, PSA, BMI, HIV/Syphilis, and mammogram tests for that day. Each year there is a theme that reflects the focus of the Health Education that will be brought to the community during the event.
Through these screenings we have been able to uncover many abnormal results and saved many lives in the process. Although we have been able to serve thousands of uninsured/underinsured individuals and have had a significant impact in the communities, there are still thousands of people in need of this service.
Do not delay. Find out about your numbers.
