Registration is officially open for the 20th Annual Chiditarod, Chicago’s most unique urban shopping cart race and charity fundraiser. As the event celebrates two decades of fun, creativity, and community spirit, Chiditarod participants, volunteers, and supporters are invited to join in what promises to be an unforgettable race through the streets of Chicago. This year’s race will also mark a monumental milestone: Chiditarod is expected to raise over $1 million in total funds for local charities over its 20-year history.
Since its inception in 2005, the Chiditarod has grown into one of Chicago’s most beloved annual events, combining wacky costumes, shopping cart races, and charitable giving. In honor of its 20th anniversary, Chiditarod organizers are pulling out all the stops to ensure that this year’s event is bigger, bolder, and more exciting than ever before.
