50-Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training
(This Yin training is also a module within our 200-hour and 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training tracks. Take it on its own, or let it count toward your full certification!)
Curious about the 200 or 300-hour path? We’d love to chat with you about it. Reach out to Jess at [email protected].
This training is for yoga teachers and students who already love Yin and are ready to really understand it. Together we’ll explore the why behind the long holds, the what happening in the body, and the how of sharing this practice with confidence.
What We’ll Explore
The roots of Yin: its history, core principles, and the dance between yin and yang
The body: fascia, muscle vs. connective tissue, anatomical considerations, and creative use of props
Energy: Chinese Medicine’s Chi and meridians, plus chakras, koshas, and elements
The practice: poses and variations, sequencing, class theming, pranayama, meditation, mantras, and mudras
The bigger picture: how Yin fits alongside other yoga styles
Real teaching experience: you’ll co-create and lead a Yin class for our community!
Expect a mix of physical practice, lecture, group discussion, projects, and self-study.
✨ Before You Arrive: Required Prework ✨
Please have everything below done by our first session on Friday night, 1/15.
1. Required Reading
The Complete Guide to Yin Yoga by Bernie Clark
(The green cover with a woman in butterfly pose.)
Read the Introduction and Chapters 1, 2, and 6 before training begins.

Take them at Zen or wherever is convenient for you.
Classes must be taken after you enroll. Past classes don’t count, unfortunately!
3. Write a Short Reflection for Each Class
Just a paragraph or so. Think about:
What did you love? What didn’t land for you?
How did it feel similar to or different from other yoga you’ve practiced?
What would you want to bring into your own teaching?
After Training: Earning Your Certification
To complete your certification, you’ll finish your reading and a final project, and teach a full Yin class under supervision.
