Bay Area Renaissance Festival auditions will be held on Saturday December 12th Sunday, December 13th, Saturday, December 19th and Sunday, December 20th.
For general cast auditions, only one audition date is required.
The auditions will consist of improvisational games played with fellow auditionees and extemporaneous speaking in front of a panel of directorship team members.
For auditions, be prepared for some physical movement. Wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes. Costume is not required for auditions. Please be prepared to be outside, which means you will need to be responsible for water, sunscreen, and other personal needs.
Registration begins at 9:00. Auditions will begin at 10:00. You must arrive before noon to audition that day. We will accept auditionees over the age of 16, or auditionees who will reach the age of 16 before the show opens on February 6th
Auditions will take place at Lowry Park. A Pavillion has yet to be announced.
The cast of the Bay Area Renaissance Festival also puts on two extra curricular stage acts: a stage combat set of shows, and a musical act
For those wishing to participate in an extracurricular act, you will need to perform an additional audition with the leader of that act following their cast audition.
For a fight audition, you will need to come on a separate day AFTER your general cast audition. Cast members may only participate in one extracurricular act per year. You may not audition for fight cast if you have not already auditioned for General cast. Please note, due to the shortened rehearsal schedule we have this year, we are not taking on people who have no previous fight experience. We expect to take on new fighters in the 2028 season.
The auditions for the musical act will be conducted following your audition for General cast on the day of your general cast audition. That means you will need to stay later in the day after the general cast auditions have concluded.
Should you be cast in the Bay Area Renaissance Festival performance, you will be required to attend rehearsals, which will take place on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for full cast and until 5:00 p.m. for those in their first or second year of performance with this directorship team.
If you participate in an extracurricular act, you will be required to attend additional rehearsal, which will take place on Sundays. The Sunday rehearsals may have different hours, and may take place at different locations. Your extracurricular act director will advise you.
