2026 Women's Equality Day Celebration

Join us August 20th from 1-4pm for this free and open to the public event featuring live music, refreshments, resource tables, inspirational t-shirts, awards, stories, and connections.
Women’s Equality Day originally commemorated the adoption of the 19th amendment, which allowed white women in the United States the right to vote. Today, we use this day to celebrate gender equality in all dimensions of life, recognizing how far we’ve come, and how much farther we have yet to go.
CMC strives to inform, acknowledge, and celebrate the women who stood up for their opportunity to have the same, equal rights as men, and the pain and suffering they endured to make it a reality. The struggles of the past serve as inspiration for today’s CMC residents to use their power, their voice, and their right to have both by celebrating victories over adversities and the strong, courageous, and independent women that they are today.
Our residents contribute their time and skills to this event through planning, sharing artwork, public speaking, screen printing, and making awards to honor the strong women in our community.
Screen Printing: Bring a cloth item and a suggested $5 donation and make your own, custom empowering item! There are 23 options including “This princess saves herself,” “I will not stay silent, so you can stay comfortable,” and “Strong is beautiful.”
