Using the LEGO’s SPIKE Essential kits to encourage hands-on play and learning to make creative problem-solving concrete and tangible, by providing learners with the tools to imagine and invent the future. LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential, part of the LEGO® Learning System, is the cross-curricular STEAM solution for elementary education. It engages students in hands-on investigation of STEAM concepts while contributing to literacy, math, and social-emotional development. This system is an intuitive, inclusive, and highly adaptable hands-on learning system.

Virtual Coding 101 (Zoom) Thursday, 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., January 22 to February 26, 2026. (8-14 years old. Flexible if interested)

Scratch is a programming language and an online community where children can program and share interactive media such as stories, games, and animation with people from all over the world. The primary focus of the Coding program is to address the development of functioning skills (e.g. problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, focusing attention and remembering instructions). As participants create with Scratch, they learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically. Group participants will create an account with Scratch and can share their creations with family and friends. Through our coding projects, participants will learn to improve their planning and problem-solving skills.
