It’s time to reconnect, reminisce, celebrate, and make some NEW memories! University of Akron Black Alumni Weekend 2026 is bringing Zips from near and far back to the city for an unforgettable weekend of good people, great music, throwback vibes, and Black excellence.
Whether you graduated a few years ago or you remember when flip phones, burned CDs, AIM away messages, and MySpace ruled the world 😂 — this weekend is for YOU.
Call your old roommates. Hit up your line brothers and line sisters. Get the group chat together. Find the people you haven’t seen since Akron. Book the room. Pack the blue and gold. We’re taking it back to the days when campus felt like home and turning Akron into our reunion spot for the entire weekend!

We’re kicking off Black Alumni Weekend the right way!
Friday night is all about reconnecting. Come grab a drink, catch up with old friends, meet fellow alumni, and see some familiar faces you haven’t seen in YEARS. This is the warm-up before the weekend really gets started.
No pressure. No complicated agenda. Just good drinks, good conversation, good music, and an entire room full of Zips ready to catch up.
You already know how that first conversation is going to go:

Break out the jerseys, throwback fits, oversized tees, fitted caps, velour, Air Force 1s, Baby Phat, Rocawear, Sean John, Akademiks — whatever represents YOUR era.
And most importantly…
REP YOUR SET! 💙💛
Whether you were on campus in the early 2000s, late 2000s, 2010s, or beyond, come represent the years when YOU made Akron home.
We’re bringing back the soundtrack to some of our best college memories — the era of Usher, Beyoncé, Lil Wayne, T.I., Nelly, 50 Cent, Jeezy, Ludacris, Missy Elliott, OutKast, Destiny’s Child and all the songs that instantly take you back.
This isn’t just another party.
It’s a reunion with a 2000s soundtrack. 🎶🔥

After two nights of reconnecting and celebrating, we’re closing out the weekend over brunch.
Sunday is for good food, drinks, laughs, pictures, storytelling, and one last opportunity to spend time together before everybody heads home.
Talk about the weekend. Laugh about the old days. Exchange numbers with people you lost touch with. Make plans to stay connected — because Black Alumni Weekend is about more than partying.
It’s about COMMUNITY.
It’s about celebrating the friendships, relationships, organizations, experiences, and memories that connected us through The University of Akron.
Most importantly, it’s about making sure those connections continue long after the weekend ends.

We went to Akron at different times.
We came from different cities.
We joined different organizations.
We studied different majors.
We had different experiences.
But we share something that will always connect us:
