About this Event
The 2026 Tri-County Camp 4-H20 is here!
Join us on for an amazing 5-day youth education experienced sponsored through Clemson's 4-H Youth Development Program in partnership with the Ashley Cooper Stormwater Education Consortium based at the Clemson Extension TEACH Center in the Citadel Mall.
This water-based science camp allows students an opportunity to learn and experience water resources firsthand. Campers are taught in the field about the analytical and critical thinking skills they need to intelligently participate in making decisions that affect the quality of our aquatic systems.
This program is built for campers ages 9-13 and camp leaders ages 14-18.
Camp Schedule:
Monday, July 13 - Start with the Basics (Water at Home): Join us for the intro event to a week of fun, learning, and exploration that is all about our most necessary resource: water.
Tuesday, July 14 - Expand the Experience (Farm Connection): Join us for a presentation on farm irrigation and waste management at the TEACH Center from the Livestock/Forages team before we visit a local urban, dairy goat farm in Charleston to see these concepts in action! We'll have lunch at the Stono Market & Tomato Shed Café.
Wednesday, July 15 - The Bigger Picture (Watershed Conservation): Join us for a tour of The Francis Beidler Forest, an Audubon wildlife sanctuary, to learn about local conservation efforts before a lunch and learn on site hosted by The Peculiar Pig, a five-generation, family-owned farm in Dorchester.
Thursday, July 16 - Connecting the Dots (Water Recreation): Join us for our final day of instruction and new content at the TEACH Center before we take an educational water science boating tour into the ocean to see local efforts to preserve our salt marshes. Lunch on the sand included!
Friday, July 17 - Putting the Pieces Together (Presentations): Join us for youth presentation day! Campers who have been working all week on presentations will show them to each other, staff, volunteers, and guardians who choose to arrive early to participate. After presentations, staff will present a video capturing some of the week’s adventures followed by a “mixer” of light refreshments and drinks to close out the week. FREE for adults to attend!
NOTE: Registration is set up for participation in ONE of TWO ways:
- Cohort (maximum of 10 due to travel limitations): These camp participants are dropped off daily at 10am and picked up by NO LATER than 4pm. They are expected each day of camp and have a required presentation to deliver on Friday, July 17 either individually or as part of a team.
- Daily Campers: These camp participants can be dropped off on days 1 and 5 (July 13 and July 17) at 10am and picked up NO LATER than 4pm. On the remaining days, a guardian or chaperone should attend off-site activities with them (may incur a cost for the adult). They are expected each day they are registered as we will cover their entry and supplies.
