About this Event

Talk It Out, Walk It Out, presented by Remembering Cherubs in partnership with The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, is an annual awareness walk and community event to raise awareness of the health disparities impacting Black women. It serves as the kickoff event for Black Women's Health Month in Detroit.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Charles H. Wright Museum to walk one lap around the museum grounds, followed by a full lineup of engaging activities flowing both inside the museum and outdoors on the surrounding grounds. Admission is free! Guests can participate in a Health Passport experience for a chance to win a $1,500 Target gift card furnished by the Detroit Health Department.

The event officially begins in the General Motors Theater with an opening ceremony emceed by WDIV Local 4 News host Tati Amare, followed by a keynote address on this year's theme: Healing for the Culture: You are the solution. Picture community conversations, workshops on underdiscussed health and wellness topics such as fibroids and cysts, autoimmune disorders, and more, plus shopping the "For Us" marketplace and connecting over delicious food. It’s all happening at Talk It Out, Walk It Out.

Whether you attend solo or with friends, every step counts towards supporting Black women’s health. Pull up with your lawn chairs, yoga mats, and blankets, and make a day of it!

After registering, please visit our Mightycause fundraising page. Every donation supports Black Women's Health Month in Detroit.
