This Eventbrite registration does not replace registration with NASA.

To be eligible to participate in the 2026 NASA Space Apps Challenge Charlotte, every participant must register through the official NASA Charlotte local event page after Aug 26:

Participants must also complete this Eventbrite registration and consent form. Registration is incomplete until both steps have been completed.

Each participant must register individually on both websites. If a participant is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete this consent registration electronically.

Charlotte is returning to join the 2026 NASA Space Apps Challenge, a two-day global competition that brings people together to develop creative solutions to real-world challenges using open data from NASA and other space agencies.

Organized locally by LaunchWorks, Space Apps Charlotte welcomes students, young adults, professionals, artists, coders, engineers, designers, storytellers, and problem-solvers from all backgrounds. You do not need experience in space, science, or coding to participate. Bring your curiosity, creativity, and willingness to collaborate.

What Is the NASA Space Apps Challenge?

The NASA Space Apps Challenge is an annual global competition where teams use open data from NASA and other space agencies to develop and present creative solutions to challenges affecting life on Earth and in space. By working with students, professionals, and community members, participants gain hands-on experience, explore potential interests and career paths, strengthen teamwork and problem-solving skills, and connect with Charlotte’s STEM and innovation community.

Who Should Participate?

Space Apps Charlotte welcomes:

• High school and college students
• Young adults exploring technology, innovation, and problem-solving
• Professionals interested in sharing or developing their skills
• Artists, designers, storytellers, researchers, coders, and engineers
• Community members passionate about discovery and innovation
• First-time participants curious about the NASA Space Apps Challenge

No previous experience is required. Participants may register individually or encourage families & friends to register and form a team.

Interested in Volunteering?

Participating is one of the best ways to understand the Challenge and prepare to support future teams. After gaining firsthand experience, consider serving as a mentor, coach, judge, or event volunteer.

Mentors help teams brainstorm, research, design, prototype, collaborate, and prepare their final presentations. Event volunteers assist with registration, logistics, hospitality, communications, and other event needs.
