Celebrating Transformation, Truth, and Tenacity—Y2K Style

Join us for an unforgettable afternoon of celebration, reflection, and sisterhood at the 3rd Annual Sister Symposium, presented by (Sister)Hood of Hope, Inc.

(Sister)Hood of Hope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing mentoring and youth development and dedicated to elevating high school girls of Color in East St. Louis and Chicagoland through community, critical consciousness, and leadership development. Through yearlong mentorship and programming grounded in confidence, resilience, and sisterhood, our girls engage in meaningful learning experiences and complete community-based impact projects that address real issues in their communities.

This year’s theme, “We Go Way Back,” is both a nostalgic tribute to early 2000s girlhood and a powerful reflection of the journeys our mentees have taken throughout the year. Together, we will honor how far they’ve come—from who they were at the beginning of the program to who they are becoming: confident, courageous, and deeply rooted in their identities.

Guests will step into a vibrant, Y2K-inspired experience filled with pink hues, sparkle, and intentional moments of connection. The event will feature:

💿 Impact Showcase – Hear directly from our mentees as they present their community impact projects on social issues they are passion about and share reflections on their growth, lessons, and leadership.

📸 “We Go Way Back” Glamor Shot Gallery – A powerful visual display capturing each girl’s transformation, paired with personal reflections on their journey.

🪞 Interactive Scrapbook & Reflection Stations – Engage with the stories, memories, and affirmations that have shaped this year, and leave messages of encouragement for our mentees.

🏆 Awards & Recognition Ceremony – Celebrate the brilliance, resilience, and sisterhood embodied by each young woman.

🎶 Curated Y2K Soundtrack & Immersive Atmosphere – From iconic early 2000s anthems to glittering décor and nostalgic details, every element is designed to honor both joy and growth.

Guests are encouraged to come dressed in Y2K Throwback Chic—think rhinestones, velour, denim, butterfly clips, and soft glam—as we celebrate girlhood, community, and transformation in style.
