About this Event
Event Description:
Join us for our 3rd annual SF Food Action Summit: Growing Connections to Feed Action!
Food insecurity is not inevitable. It’s the result of systems, policies, and choices— and that means it can be changed. Over two days, the summit will bring together community leaders, farmers, advocates, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and grassroots organizations to meet across industries and turn ideas into action. Together, we want to plan and plant a food system that is just, regenerative, and resilient.
We’re working to create a movement that establishes food security and access as a basic human right. Whatever your relationship to food— as a farmer or diner, a local vendor or healthcare worker, a food service worker or someone working in a non-profit that feeds our city’s diverse communities— we encourage you to attend. Now, more than ever, it’s important to come together as a city to ensure our basic rights are protected and ensured.
In addition to keynotes and workshops presented by food system experts, this year’s summit will offer ample opportunities to network and connect, because our collective efforts are vital to ensuring our vision becomes a living blueprint for a good food system in San Francisco.
About FAACTS
The Food and Agriculture Action Coalition Toward Sovereignty (FAACTS) was formed in 2022 when 30 local partner organizations identified the necessity of ensuring consistent and equitable access to high quality, local, fresh and culturally-inclusive food and nutrition services in San Francisco. Over FAACTS’ history, we have always looked forward. With all the chaos trying to prevent us from joining forces to build collective power, we remain steadfast in our pursuit of a shared, positive, joyful vision of the future.
FAACTS Mission
Our mission is to build a just, sustainable, and holistic food system, ensuring we are neighborhood-based and coordinated across every district in San Francisco, with the goal of nourishing our community in a way that is sincere, healthy, empowering, specific, culturally relevant, humble, and abundant.
