2026 SF Congressional Candidate Forum

The San Francisco Independent Media Coalition is proud to present its first Congressional Candidate Forum, at which local voters can learn more about the 2026 candidates for California's 11th Congressional District: Saikat Chakrabarti, Connie Chan, and Scott Wiener. Our diverse coalition of neighborhood and community publications will be asking tough questions that directly affect the people of San Francisco.

The forum will take place April 15, 7pm at the United Irish Cultural Center in San Francisco and will be moderated by KALW Executive Producer Ben Trefny. This event is free: Please RSVP to guarantee a spot!

The San Francisco Independent Media Coalition is an alliance of SF-based independent media outlets that directly serve ethnic communities and local neighborhoods across the city. Participating forum members include: KALW, The San Francisco Public Press, Bay Area Reporter, El Tecolote, San Francisco Bay View, Mission Local, J: The Jewish News of Northern California, Wind Newspaper, Sunset Beacon, Richmond Review, The Ingleside Light, SF Gazetteer, Broke-Ass Stuart, 48 Hills, and The Frisc, with affiliate supporters San Francisco State Journalism Department, Good Neighbor Lab, Common Cause, and Indivisible.

***While some members of the coalition take editorial stances, the coalition itself is non-partisan. Because there have been no non-partisan polls of this race to date, the decision about which candidates to invite were made based on campaign funds raised from smaller donors. Candidates were invited who as of 12/31/2025 had raised a minimum of $100,000 and had raised at least $25,000 of that in contributions under $200 according to FEC data (https://www.fec.gov/data/elections/house/CA/11/2026/#individual-contributions).
