Lupus Research Alliance Invites New York Metro Community to Walk with Us to Cure Lupus October 24 

The Lupus Research Alliance is hosting its annual “2026 New York Walk with Us to Cure Lupus” event Saturday, October 24 at the Intrepid Museum!  

This in-person fundraising event is a fantastic opportunity to connect with others in the community who are passionate about finding a cure for this debilitating autoimmune disease. Also included are inspiring speakers, light refreshments, fun festivities, and a Kids Zone. All are welcome. Of special note -- 100% of all donations goes to support lupus research programs because the Lupus Research Alliance Board of Directors funds all administrative and fundraising costs.

Lupus is a chronic and complex autoimmune disease that affects millions of people worldwide. Four out of five people with lupus are women, and the disease disproportionately affects women of color. In lupus, the immune system, which is designed to protect against infection, produces autoantibodies that mistake the body’s own cells as foreign, causing other immune cells to attack organs such as the kidneys, brain, heart, lungs and skin, as well as blood and joints.

The Lupus Research Alliance has a $25 registration fee which counts as your first donation towards your goal and will get you our first incentive a purple drawstring backpack, access to our fun festivities, and refreshments.  * (Children 12 and under are not required to pay the registration fee but are welcome to fundraise with their own customizable fundraising page.)
