2026 SPED New Teacher Boot Camp

July 28-29, 2026

Are you a new special education teacher with three years or less experience? Join the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) for an engaging and practical learning experience designed specifically for new special education teachers. 

The Boot Camp will:

• Deepen your understanding of IDEA 
• Offer hands-on opportunities to develop appropriate IEP goals and services that support student success
• Provide key tools, routines, and practices to help new teachers start strong

Whether you're building your foundation or refining your skills, this boot camp is designed to help you start the year with confidence. 

This year, the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE), Special Programs Division, is pleased to announce a scholarship opportunity for the 2026 New SPED Teacher Boot Camp.  WDE is offering a $250.00 scholarship to help cover the cost of registration for new teachers. Please note that this scholarship is only available to educators who are currently on an exception authorization or who are new teachers with three years of experience or less. If you qualify, fill out the required information before completing registration.  A promo code will be emailed to you to insert in the registration process once the information is verified to offer you free registration for the Boot Camp. If you do not qualify for the scholarship, go to the registration link below to get registered.

Event Details:

Dates: July 28–29, 2026

July 28th: Registration 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. 

Boot Camp 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

July 29th: Check-in 7:30 - 8:00 a.m.

Boot Camp 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Location: Little America (Wyoming Room), Cheyenne, Wyoming

Registration closes June 30, 2026.

We encourage eligible educators to take advantage of this opportunity to build skills, connect with colleagues, and strengthen support and outcomes for students with special needs.
