About this Event

Math Speaks All Languages
The MidSchoolMath National Conference returns in 2026 with a powerful focus on supporting multilingual learners in math classrooms, under the unifying theme Math Speaks All Languages. This 3-day professional learning experience offers math educators a unique opportunity to gain tools, strategies, and inspiration to help students from all language backgrounds thrive in the middle grades (5–8).
Thursday, March 5: Pre-Conference
Beyond Translation: Empower Multilingual Learners in your Math Classroom
If you’re a math teacher with students who speak different languages, this pre-conference workshop is designed for you. Led by expert Jeff Zwiers, this hands-on session goes far beyond simple translation strategies. You’ll explore practical, classroom-ready structures that create real opportunities for multilingual learners to engage in math discussions and problem solving. Walk away with tools you can implement immediately to ensure every student has access to meaningful learning—no matter what language they speak. Add this 3-hour afternoon workshop to your registration for $75.
Friday, March 6 — Saturday, March 7: Conference
Math Speaks All Languages comes Alive on the Mainstage
Join us for the MidSchoolMath Conference, where the experience begins with a powerful live immersion—giving educators the chance to step into the shoes of multilingual students and better understand the challenges they face in math classrooms. With over 50 breakout sessions, the conference directly addresses one of the most urgent issues in US education today: the steep drop in math performance between 4th and 10th grade. Learn from leading educators like Daniella Leonardi, Jeff Zwiers, and Pamela Seda, who will share strategies to help you close this gap—especially for your multilingual learners. This is more than a professional development event—it’s a chance to recharge, connect, and return to your classroom ready to create a math environment where every student can participate and succeed. Held in the vibrant city of Santa Fe, this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss.
Who should attend the Conference
Classroom teachers, academic coaches, school leaders and district administrators are all welcome to attend. The Conference is a stand-alone professional learning experience whether or not you currently use Core Curriculum by MidSchoolMath and brings together educators from public, charter and private schools, who use a wide range of curriculum products, textbooks and teaching practices that align to both Common Core State Standards and state-specific standards.
