The Rockford Disc Golf Club is excited to announce our annual Kidz Clinic! What is the Rockford Disc Golf Club? We are a group of dedicated disc golfers (frolf, frisbee golf) that run community events, volunteer at the local parks and raise funds for park improvements and for local charities.
For the past 6 years, we have run an annual Kidz Clinic. What is the Kidz Clinic? As a group, our goal is to grow the sport of disc golf. The best way to do so, is getting our youth involved and active in the game. At the Kidz Clinic, there is ZERO COST for any child that wants to participate. We provide the discs and carrying bag (and usually other goodies will be in the bag for you too!) as well as instruction and coaching throughout the day. Also, we are going to get you a really cool shirt for free too!
Did I mention we are buying all the kids lunch too? Again, no cost, totally free, we will take a break in the middle of the day for a lunch break, and to raffle off prizes.
Did I mention there will be a raffle full of amazing goodies? Last year, we raffled off a Marksman Basket as our big prize, as well as over 30 discs (plus other swag!). Every kids carry bag will also come with a handful of free raffle tickets. Additional raffle tickets will be for sale day of the event.
Tentative Schedule:
-Check in - 9:30am - 10am
-Announcements/Agenda/Meeting - 10am-10:15am
-Take group photo, then organize kids into groups - 10:15am-10:30am
-Coaches take kids out for instruction - 10:30am-12pm
-Lunch and Raffle 12pm - 1pm
-Throw 4 holes with kids - 1pm - 2:30pm
-ADIOS! 2:30pm
To get signed up, please DM Valerie Wilbourn (Kemp) with your child(s) first and last name, and tshirt size. Alternatively, you may also make a post in the event page, and Val can pull your info from there as well. Spots fill up fast, we can accommodate up to 50 kids!
We do have a handful of sponsors that have generously donated time and money to this event every year. Huge shoutouts to Rockford Dolls,Outta Bounds Disc Golf in Pecatonica, Amazing Arts in Rockford, Screw City Discs in Rockford and more to be announced!
