IVET ICONNECT Brisbane | Technology Immersive in Education Event In partnership with Mindflight7, XR Hub & the ICT Gateway to Industry Program

Join IVET and Mindflight7 for a one-of-a-kind Technology Immersion in Education Summit as part of our 2026 ICONNECT Event Series. From extended reality to immersive simulation, emerging technologies are creating entirely new possibilities for how students learn, engage, and develop real-world skills. Designed for both current Partner Schools and prospective schools across South East Queensland, this event is built for educators who want to understand not just what these technologies are — but how to put them to work inside a VET program that delivers for students.

This event goes beyond a standard information session. In partnership with Mindflight7, and supported by the Queensland XR Hub and the ICT Gateway to Industry Program, we're bringing together immersive technology, industry insight, and practical curriculum thinking to create an experience that's as engaging for educators as it is relevant to your students.

What to expect on the day:

• Explore how XR and VR technologies can meaningfully address key challenges in modern education — from student engagement to real-world skill development.
• Participate in hands-on VR experiences with curriculum-aligned applications, giving you a first-hand feel for what immersive learning looks like in practice.
• Review current research on XR's impact on student learning outcomes and gain practical strategies for integrating immersive tools into your VET program.
• Learn from real-world case studies drawn from schools and training environments across Australia — including Mindflight7's experience working with over 1,500 schools and delivering programs to more than 150,000 students.
• Discover the career prospects and job pathways available to students in the technology sector — including insights into where the ICT industry is heading and how VET qualifications are opening doors to real, in-demand roles.
