Workshop description
Join Joe Henke from Alberta Ecotrust Foundation | ENBIX as we explore Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) for builders. Ground source heat pumps are super-efficient heating and cooling devices offering excellent comfort, performance, and low operating costs. Ground source heat pump systems also present special challenges for builders. They require specialized design knowledge, installation of ground loops, careful sizing, and management of capital costs. This workshop will help builders new to both heat pumps generally and ground source heat pumps specifically. Topics covered include:
• Basics of GSHP systems
• Benefits
• How the installations integrate into a construction schedule

About the Green Economy Gatherings
During the 2024 Energy and Climate Change Community Engagement Sessions, Citizens told us they wanted to learn how they could get involved in the green economy. To make this happen, our Environment and Climate Change team partnered with Iron & Earth to develop the Green Economy Gatherings.
These drop-in events will be held across Alberta, bringing Citizens together with industry leaders to learn more about this exciting field.
