2026 Float-in Movie: 'Homeward Bound'

Pack up your boat with snacks and watch a movie on the water! Float or paddle up for a movie projected on a large inflatable screen located on the shore of Silver Lake. Audio will be available via speakers and radio broadcast by tuning into 89.7 FM. For your safety, please wear lifejackets.
This year's Float-in Movie will be the 1993 film "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey". One night only. In the event of inclement weather, the movie will be rescheduled for Friday, July 24. The screen is rear-projected, so limited seating is also available on the land to view from both sides of the screen. You may wish to bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket. And come early to ensure you get a spot! No registration required.
Silver Lake Launch Options
-Carry-in access is available at the Columbia Heights Public Beach and Silverwood Park from our main and overflow parking lots. A boat drop-off will be available on the south end of our main parking lot near the High Five sculpture for temporary unloading/loading.
-Boat launch in Columbia Heights (4121 NE Stinson Boulevard, Columbia Heights); can accommodate trailers; limited parking available.
-Please note: watercraft will not be available for rental during this event.
Participants ages 13 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult from the same household.
