Due to the overwhelming popularity of our dumpling-making classes during the last season (Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day), guests from as far away as New York City, Jersey City in New Jersey, and Rockville, Maryland have attended.

We've even received interview requests from four TV stations - ABC, Fox, NBC, and PHL 17 - about our classes! However, due to the limited size of our classes, we have had to turn away some guests. To ensure you secure a spot this time, be sure to sign up early!

2026 Mother's Day/Father's Day Celebration

We are extremely excited to bring the Mother's Day/Father's Day Hand Made Dumpling Event back to Philadelphia this year! We cordially invite you, your moms and dads, your grandmothers and grandfathers and your friends to attend a fun DIY Dumpling + fried chocolate wontons cooking experience. We will make rose shaped dumplings and edamame too, so everyone will learn new cooking skills!

Come learn to make your own dumplings at the Dumpling Academy - Home of the Dumpling Queen - at our new location in Center City, Philadelphia! Easy parking!

At this dumpling making party, you will enjoy a hands-on adventure: make-your-own dumplings! You'll be guided and taught by Yin, a dumping making expert who will teach you how to fill and shape your own pot stickers in a candidly authentic way.

A quick overview:

-First, we will learn how to prepare the dumpling filling. Then, with either pre-made wrappers or wrappers we made ourselves, we will then learn the proper ways to cook dumplings; Everyone will learn well-rounded dumpling making skills. Finally, we will feast together on the dumplings we made - delicious!

Dumplings are the singular best food to make for (and with) a crowd: They’re easy, fun, beginner-friendly, and cook super quickly. The more hands we have on deck, the quicker the dumplings come together and the faster we can get to eating.

Bonus - You will sample assorted Chinese dim sum/snacks at your arrival!

*Chinese Tangyuan(Japanse Mochi) is only offered in the sessions around Chinese New Year. If we do not make Tangyuan in the class, we will learn to make and have Wonton soup!

We are accepting private party reservations now! There is a minimum of requirement.

While we host dumpling making classes for the general public, we are determined to make a social impact by primarily offering dumpling making workshops to seniors (nursing homes, assisted living, personal care homes and senior centers), intellectually disabled, people who suffer mental illness, and of course, children, families, and corporation teams striving to learn and connect with each other more genuinely. We are accepting private donations from individual and organizations. We are also accepting volunteer requests. Join and help us make this world happier, healthier and more productive.

WHAT TO BRING: We will provide all the dumpling ingredients, experiences, and fun (Also Chinese appetizers)!!! You will just need to bring a container to bring leftover dumplings home.

COST: $125/adult person, $60/child (12 year old and under) - prepaid. There is no processing fee if your registration and payment are made via the google form . The Google form also lists more class dates available. However, other platforms may charge a processing fee if your registration is made on their platform.

CANCELLATION POLICY: You will receive a full refund if:

- The event is canceled

- The event is rescheduled

About Yin

Yin operates the "Five Spice Tour of Philly's Chinatown", a cultural walking tour with dim sum tastings as well as restaurant hopping tours in Philly Chinatown. As a dumpling expert, she hosts classes and competitions based on the iconic food. She has worked in City Kitchen for the dumpling making show at the Reading Terminal Market as its guest for Chinese New Year. Yin was also interviewed by “What’s Cooking” on 1060 by Hadas Kuznits, of the Philadelphia (CBS) KYW radio station about Chinese New Year. In early 2017, she was invited by the show, Travel & Adventure, to host a dumpling making show in the PA Convention Center.
