2026 Faculty Idea Exchange (FIX) - Higher Ed Teaching Conference

The Columbus State Faculty Idea Exchange (FIX) is a dynamic annual summer conference, hosted by the CSCC Instructional Success Committee (ISC), that brings together college educators from Central Ohio and beyond to exchange innovative, evidence-based ideas, showcase effective teaching strategies grounded in research, and collaborate on practices that strengthen teaching and improve student success. It offers a distinctive professional development opportunity - unmatched in Ohio in both scope and accessibility - providing high-quality learning experiences at no cost to participants.

FIX 2026 is scheduled for June 5, 2026 from 8:30 am - 2:40 pm at the Columbus State Community College WD Conference Center.

We are excited to announce that this year’s keynote and plenary speaker is Dr. Mary-Ann Winkelmes, Founder, Director, and Principal Investigator of the Transparency in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education project (TILT Higher Ed). On six continents, TILT promotes direct communication with students about methods of teaching, learning, advising, and mentoring to help educators identify the most effective evidence-based approaches to support postsecondary students’ learning. Her work to improve higher education learning and teaching, especially for historically underserved students, has been recognized nationally by the Chronicle of Higher Education and the POD Network's Robert J. Menges Award for Outstanding Research in Education Development.

In addition to the featured speaker, breakout sessions focusing on student success and best teaching practices will be presented by faculty and other education experts from higher-ed institutions of Central Ohio (and beyond).
