Welcome to the 2026 Research Impact Showcase & Distinguished Lecture Series! Join us for an exciting afternoon, kicking off with our Distinguished Lecturer, Terri D. Pigott, Ph.D., for a discussion on The Use of Evidence for Policy Decisions: The role of systematic reviews and meta analysis. Following the lecture, be inspired as students and faculty showcase research innovations across disciplines.

Distinguished Lecturer
Terri D. Pigott is a Professor in the College of Education and Human Development at Georgia State University. She was formerly Associate Provost for Research and Professor of Research Methodology at Loyola University Chicago. Pigott received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame, and her Ph.D. in Measurement, Evaluation and Statistical Analysis from the University of Chicago. Pigott is formerly Dean of the School of Education at Loyola University Chicago.
In 2023, Pigott was named a Fellow of the American Educational Research Association. Pigott is also the 2016 recipient of the Frederick Mosteller Award from the Campbell Collaboration. She has served on a number of editorial boards including Psychological Bulletin, Psychological Methods, the Journal of Research on Educational Effectiveness, and Review of Educational Research. She is the founding chair of the AERA SIG on Systematic Review and Meta-analysis, and a member of the Society for Research Synthesis Methodology (SRSM). She is the current President of the Society for Research Synthesis Methodology and the co-editor-in-chief of the journal Research Synthesis Methods. Along with Ann Marie Ryan, she is co-editor of the 2019 and 2021 volumes of Review of Research in Education.
βPigott's research focuses on methods for meta-analysis. She has published papers on power and missing data in meta-analysis, the use of individual participant data in meta-analysis and outcome reporting bias in educational research.

Graduate student winners will receive up to $600 in scholarship awards.
