Ready for a 'out of norm' tournament hosted right in the middle of a cowboy town out west?? We're inviting all to a traditional cowboy game, mixed with some competition -- Polocrosse & Poker! Welcome to the Dakota Dust-up! This 3rd Annual "tournament" is intended to be a fun, low-cost, western/north central, event to get as many polocrosse players as possible together from our western and Candanian clubs for a mixed tournament where the winning team will be based on the assembly of the best team poker hand assembled during their 3 weekend matches. There are no planned prizes -- other than the bragging rights of being the toughest (and luckiest) polocrosse team at the tournament!
NOTE: This is an APA Sanctioned tournament - AND it is a MULTI-HORSE tournament!
The facility is amazing! Paneled pens are on site, so all you need to do is show up and put your horses in individual, safe, permanent pens. Plus, if you come early or stay late you can take advantage of the incredible horse and hiking trails all over (and through) the Badlands of Medora, North Dakota.
WHEN: June 6th & 7th, 2026
LOCATION: Stark County Fairgrounds, South 4024 ND-22, Dickenson, ND, 58601.

FEES:
• $40 Entry per individual.
• Entry fees will be collected Friday night during registration
• Registration Check-in starts at 4:00 pm on Friday, June 5th.
MEALS AND AMENITIES:
• Pizza or Burgers will be provided Friday Night. BYOB
• No other meals are included in this event. There is a gas BBQ provided at that grounds for community use and we'll plan for a pot-luck style gathering on Saturday night!
• Community Bathrooms are on site. There are no community showers at this time.
DIVISIONS:
• TBD based attendees.
• Final Teams will be announced Friday Night
• This is an APA Sanctioned Event.
GAMES & CHUKKAS:
• Our tournament will consist of 3 games (3 x 6 minute chukkas).
• Tournament committee reserves the right to move individual divisions to a 2x 8 minute format if that is needed for scheduling purposes.
HORSE CARE:
• Electric hook ups available for RVs at additional costs. Reserve at www.starkcountyfair.net
• Outdoor stall/stock pen rental is required for all horses. Please work with Stark County Fairgrounds for fees. More details on the stalls can be found on the Stark County Website: starkcountyfair.net
• E-pens are not allowed. Penning horse at trailer is not allowed. All players must rent stall/stock pen for horses.
