Chardon Township will be holding Resident Trash Days for township residents on Friday, May 29 & Saturday, May 30 from 8am to 2pm. Drop-Off Location is located at the Chardon Township Road Garage (behind Townhall) 9949 Mentor Road. See attached map for best access.
Accepted Items:
Appliances with freon
Electronics
Tires off rims (limit 10 per household)
Small items must be bagged, boxed, or bundled
Lumber bundled and tied in lengths under 10 feet
Metal pipes no longer than 10 feet
Mattresses, couches, and upholstered furniture must be wrapped securely in plastic and taped
Items NOT Accepted:
Construction or remodeling debris
Brush, leaves, grass clippings, or yard waste
Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, oil, etc.)
Tires on rims
Food waste
Rocks, bricks, concrete, fuel, or propane tanks
Residents are encouraged to separate newspapers, magazines, and cardboard for recycling. The recycling bins are also located at townhall on the main driveway before you get into the road garage.

Trash Day Traffic Flow Diagram- Red arrows lead in with two lanes. Blue arrows lead out. Bins will be labeled for specific items.

Senior Trash Pick-Up Days: May 26 & 27 from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
The Chardon Township Trustees are joining forces with the Geauga County Department on Aging for the 2026 Chardon Senior Trash Pick-Up Days May 26 & 27.
Please have items outside home or garage Monday, May 25, the evening before the pick-up.
Sign Up Is EASY-HERE’S HOW: First, register and complete the trash pick-up intake with the Geauga County Department on Aging at 440-279-2130.
Please note, to receive trash pick-up assistance, you must be 60 years of age or older, live in Chardon Township and be registered with the Department on Aging for 2026.
