The San Francisco High-Impact Tutoring Summit will explore how high-impact tutoring can serve as an evidence-based strategy to accelerate student learning, close achievement gaps, strengthen workforce readiness, and expand pathways to college and careers.
As San Francisco continues addressing educational inequities, workforce challenges, and economic mobility, cross-sector collaboration is essential. This summit will bring together leaders from education, workforce development, government, philanthropy, business, faith communities, and community organizations to explore how we can strengthen student outcomes while building San Francisco’s future workforce.
High-impact tutoring can support strong literacy and math outcomes while also creating opportunities for students to develop the skills, experiences, and connections they need to succeed in college, careers, and life.

In this inspiring student-led panel will include middle school, high school, and college students from across San Francisco. They will share their experiences navigating school, tutoring, career exploration, mentorship, internships, and workforce pathways. They will discuss the barriers they face, the supports that have made a difference, and what employers, educators, policymakers, and community leaders can do to better prepare young people for success in an increasingly complex world.

Info: Session 4: The future workforce doesn't begin when a student applies for an apprenticeship—it begins years earlier when they develop strong math skills, problem-solving abilities, teamwork, persistence, and confidence. As San Francisco and the Bay Area face growing shortages in skilled trades, utilities, transportation, construction, public safety, and infrastructure careers, employers are increasingly recognizing the importance of investing upstream in student success.
This panel will feature experienced workforce leaders, utility executives, and SFUSD Career Technical Education professionals discussing the preparation required for the next generation of electricians, plumbers, operators, technicians, first responders, and skilled trades professionals.
