Healing Where We Are: Black Women, Our Environments, and the Power to Restore
Health is shaped by more than individual choices. It is influenced by the environments where we live, work, rest, heal, and connect with one another.
This year, the BRIDGE Community Forum invites breast cancer survivors, patients, caregivers, researchers, healthcare professionals, advocates, and community members to explore how our environments influence health—and what it takes to restore and sustain wellness within them.
Together, we will examine the visible and invisible factors that shape health outcomes, from neighborhoods and healthcare access to everyday exposures, chronic stress, and the spaces where healing happens. Through engaging discussions, community storytelling, interactive workshops, and opportunities to connect, we will explore how environmental conditions impact cancer risk, survivorship, and overall well-being for Black women.
At the heart of this year's forum is a simple but powerful idea: Black women's health is shaped by the environments we are exposed to—and sustained by the environments we are able to create.
Whether you are seeking knowledge, community, support, or inspiration, this forum offers a space to learn from researchers, clinicians, advocates, survivors, and one another. Together, we will explore not only the challenges that affect health, but also the pathways toward restoration, resilience, and collective healing.
Join us as we reflect, connect, and imagine healthier futures for Black women and the communities we call home.
Nourishment and refreshments will be provided.
