Las Vegas, NV — CARE Complex, in partnership with Expertise Barber School, MGM International, Sprouts, and several community organizations, is excited to host its annual “Heads Up for School” Back-to-School Event on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at 200 Foremaster Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
This free event is designed to give children ages 5 to 16 a confident and memorable start to the school year by providing essential back-to-school services and a fun community celebration.
Event Highlights Include:
- Free Haircuts provided by Expertise Barber School
- Clothing Giveaway with gently used school-age children’s clothes
- Shoe Giveaway (as available), first come, first served
- BBQ Lunch starting at 12 PM with hot dogs and hamburgers
- Cotton Candy & Popcorn Station
- Water Fun Zone to help kids beat the heat

“We believe every child deserves to start the school year feeling confident and prepared,” said Latoya Johnson, Executive of CARE Complex. “This event is about more than school supplies; it’s about dignity, community, and creating joyful moments for kids who need it most.”
The event is free and open to all school-aged kids (K-11). High school students may be asked to show ID. Families are encouraged to come early, as supplies will be distributed while they last.
Donations Welcome: CARE Complex is currently accepting donations of new children’s shoes, as well as non-perishable food items for their community pantry.
